Hallway Linen Closet Tour

My Hallway Linen Closet

thumb_IMG_2552_1024I forgot to mention my hallway linen closet upstairs.  This holds my beach towels up top and then two shelves of towels (bath and hand towels separately).  I also have a shelf of medications, vitamins, and essential oils.  On the floor I have my extra soaps, nail polishes, heating pads, and extra hair products.  I have used bins to organize all of these items on the floor to fit the most I could.  The main point of this closet is to hold all of the guest towels.

My Husband’s Two Closets

Since my husband has significantly less clothes and shoes than I do, he has the small master closet and the closet in the upstairs living room.  The small master closet stores his work clothes, pants, ties, and belts.  As well as his nice sweaters and shoes for work and nice dinners.  He also keeps his suits in this closet.

The living room closet stores all of his work out clothes and hang out clothes.  It also has his sneakers.  He keeps his bathing suits and ski gear in here as well.  It is a perfect place to store his sweat shirts for working out and his jerseys for game days.  It is really his casual clothes closet.

My Summer/Spring Closet

This closet is in my guest bedroom that is my old master bedroom set.  This guest bedroom has my summer and spring clothes and shoes.  I keep all of my dresses and skirts in this closet.  I also have all of my tank top and short sleeve shirts in here.  To go along with my summer and spring attire, I have all of my shoes for the season of course lining the floor.

The other clothes that I store in my closet are my nice dresses to wear to weddings and my shoes for these events.  It is easy to keep all of these dresses and shoes in a separate closet because I don’t wear them very often.

My goal is to change my master bedroom closet seasonal items out with this closet’s attire since it is May already.  I will only have to change the clothes out twice a year (when winter become spring and when summer becomes fall).

My Work Out/Activity Closet

This closet is in the white guest bedroom.  I keep all of my work-out and yoga clothes in here.  I have my shirts, sports bras, shorts, and pants all organized and folded.  I also have my sneakers and flip-flops in this closet.  I store my jerseys and hang out shirts in there as well.  And of course, all of my sweatshirts that are great to throw over my work-out clothes when I hit the gym or yoga class.

I keep my bathing suits and cover-ups in here as well.  And I have all of my ski gear from my long johns to goggles stored in this closet as well.  This is my go-to closet for any work-out or activity.

My Master Closet

This closet currently holds all of my winter and fall clothes.  Everything from work clothes, to dresses, to pants and shoes.  I even have my sweaters folded according to color.  I always organize my closets in color order.  Within the colors, I got from tank tops to long sleeves.  I find it easiest to find my clothes and what I want to wear this way.  It is also easy to figure out outfits and to keep outfits from getting boring.  For example, if you have been wearing a lot of black lately, I will check out my pink or blue areas to switch it up.

I hang my jeans because I don’t have an area to fold them in my closet and it seems to be easiest to have all of my clothes in one area to get ready for the day.  I also store my scarves, hats, and gloves in here.  That way I am ready to go when I get ready and leave for the day.  I can match everything together and bring it down and walk out the door.

The purses are all stuffed with tissue paper and placed from large to small so that I can see what I have and get them easily.  I like to be able to see all of my purses out as opposed to storing them in boxes and bags.  If I store them where I can’t see them, I have a hard time remembering what I have and to use them.
