Traveling Teacher

I have been teaching for about 6 years.  In this time, I have worked in 4 different states and all different positions.  It is always so difficult to have to quit and start at square one each time we move.  It is also difficult to get into a school system when you have to put your time in substituting and waiting to get a job.  Once I have spent time substituting and I finally get a job, I only have about a year before I have to move and do it all over again.  This can become daunting.

I have figured out with this move that I need to figure out a better career for myself.  I have done research and found online teaching in China is really the best way to continue my career in education.  Since I can work from home, it doesn’t matter where I am living or how often I move.  This is an amazing side hustle for any teacher looking to make a little extra money and this also works as a full-time teaching job!

Guest Bathroom

The guest bathroom in the hallway is a full bathroom with a tub.  It has the same shower curtain and rugs that they my husband had in Dallas, Texas.  It was our master bedroom set in Baltimore and our guest bedroom set in Rhode Island.  This is still our guest bedroom set.

I bought a new tissue box at Bed, Bath, and Beyond that was on clearance.  I also have the drawers and cabinets packed with all of our hotel soaps, lotions, shampoos, and conditioners.  I even have extra face wash and shaving kits for our guests!

My Kitchen Island

In the one drawer of my island, I have my silverware and my kitchen scissors and peelers.

In my other drawer, I have my cutting boards.  I use wood cutting boards and plastic.

Under the island, I have all of my pots and pans, the colanders, mixing bowls, and roasting pan.

Landscaping in Spring

Since my husband and I closed on our house in the winter, we unfortunately have no yard.  And when I mean no yard, I mean mounds of dirt and mud.  There is no paved driveway or walk-up to the house.  We have nothing exciting outside our house to look at.  And furthermore, because of the mess outside, booties are my new best friend.  Each time someone comes to the house to deliver things or drop things off, I give them booties to put on their shoes.

The booties are a necessity in a new construction home.  It is awful to have people coming in all of the time and tracking the dirt and mud in.  I feel like Cinderella because there hasn’t been a moment when I haven’t stopped cleaning the floors.

I have been anxiously awaiting my window of getting a puppy, but it looks like I am going to have to wait a bit longer until I am able to have a yard with grass so that I don’t have to consistently clean the floors all day and night.

Thankfully, my mother-in-law recently bought me this amazing cleaner and spray for my floors.  This helps keep me from spending my entire day on my hands and knees cleaning the floors.  The spray helps keep the floors shiny and it helps me only have to go over them once every couple days.  This is a game-changer.  It is such a relief to not have a mess to have to clean up every day.  I highly recommend this product to anyone with hard wood floors-especially dark hard wood floors like I have.

Make-Up Organizer

This is an amazing make-up drawer organizer from my post, “How To Organize Your Vanity.”  This drawer expands to fit in any size drawer.  It is super user friendly.  I keep my foundation, blush, concealer, and eye shadows in these separate compartments.  It makes getting ready so much easier to see all of your make-up ready to use!  Click the picture below to view the product on Amazon:

Vanity Garbage Can

This was another item I talked about in mY, “How To Organize Your Vanity” post.  You need a garbage next to your vanity/getting ready area so you can throw away your tissues, q-tips, and other cotton applicators used to do your make-up.  You will thank me for this tip when you are able to complete your make-up routine without running into the bathroom each time you need the garbage.  I love a delicate, white garbage to go with my vanity and finish the look.  Click on the Amazon link below to view the garbage can.

Make-Up Mirror

This is another essential item to have on your vanity.  This mirror is double-sided (one for a regular view and one for a magnified view).  I talked about this in my, “How To Organize Your Vanity” post.  The magnified view is scary to literally see every flaw and pore on your face, but this is perfect for tweezing eyebrows and making sure that you are covering each blemish for a big night out!  This is the best make-up investment I have made.  Once your are finished with your make-up, you know that you look amazing and ready for the day/night.  Click on the picture to check out the link on Amazon.

Make-Up Brush and Lip Color Organizer

This is similar to what I use on top of my vanity to help me organize my brushes and lip colors.  I referred to this organizer in my post called, “How To Organize Your Vanity.”  I use this on top of my vanity to keep my make-up brushes standing up and airing out.  I also use it to keep my lip stick, lip gloss, and lip liners.  I try to keep similar colors close together to make it easy to put on in the morning.  I will even put my mascara and eye liner up here.  The tall make-up items are easy to get to on my vanity and standing up.  Click the picture to see the link on Amazon.
