Master Bathroom

My master bathroom has two sinks which is great so that my husband and I can brush our teeth at the same time.  The only problem is, we have no counter space.  And we lack a linen closet for our master bathroom.  This forced me to get creative with our space under our sink area.  It took lots of time and organization to figure out how to make it work-able and make everything fit.

I also bought a hook to put by the shower for towels so the floor doesn’t get wet.  And the toilet paper holder is wonderful to keep one more thing out of the cabinets.  I decided to go with dark brown in all of the bathrooms to match the marble sink/counter areas and the dark wood cabinets.

We also have a standing shower which is great-there is even a little seat inside of it.  I was able to buy a storage container for all of the shower soaps and hair products.  This helps keep us organized.  And the shower curtain is awesome with a built-in line and the curtain snaps right onto the shower rod-no hooks required!

Master Bedroom

We just ordered a full bedroom set from Overstock.  The entire set with headboard, footboard, 2 nightstands, chest of drawers, dresser, and mirror cost $1,900.  And we spent $50 to have the set delivered upstairs to the bedroom because it was so heavy.  I used my coupons to buy a comforter/sham set from Bed, Bath, and Beyond that came out to be about $115.  I also bought a new vanity and jewelry armoire to match the new beset from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  The jewelry armoire came to $100 with the coupon and the vanity with bench came to $150 with the coupon.

Now, we are just waiting for the Memorial Day sale at mattress stores to get our mattress and box spring.  So, we are still sleeping in our guest room/old master bedroom.

Guest Bathroom

The guest bathroom in the hallway is a full bathroom with a tub.  It has the same shower curtain and rugs that they my husband had in Dallas, Texas.  It was our master bedroom set in Baltimore and our guest bedroom set in Rhode Island.  This is still our guest bedroom set.

I bought a new tissue box at Bed, Bath, and Beyond that was on clearance.  I also have the drawers and cabinets packed with all of our hotel soaps, lotions, shampoos, and conditioners.  I even have extra face wash and shaving kits for our guests!

Another unfinished room-the office

So far the office has all of our office supplies and books scattered all over the floor.  We had a bar unit that we bought in Rhode Island that is in the office now.  We bought a bar cart from Target for $100.  That way we can store liquor on the cart instead of the nice bar unit.

We also bought a desk for $350 online-and now that $350 desk is broken in our basement.  We bought it from Wayfair and after my husband spent 6 hours after work putting it together, we realized it didn’t look like the description said it would and there was a gap in the from of the desk.  I called Wayfair and they were so sweet and refunded us and told us to keep the desk.  So we decided we would store the desk in the basement. We got it down to the last step, and then the bolt flew off the desk.  So now it is laying in a neat pile in the storage area of our basement.

In the meantime, the file cabinet that I bought from Overstock for $90 arrived and we put that together.  So now we are in the process of ordering a desk and hopefully some storage drawers for our office supplies to complete the room.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond Helps Me Finish My Downstairs Half Bathroom

I am a crazy coupon lady when it comes to Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  You can save all the 20% coupons and use them on each item you buy at the store.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond has great bathroom decorations.  I got a bronze toilet bowl cleaner, tissue holder, soap dish, and step garbage can.  This helped finish my downstairs bath and keep the price down.

Saving the coupons always pays off at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

Pro-tip: Get a step trash can for guest bathrooms with high traffic.  Your bathroom will always look neater because you won’t see tissues crumpled up in the garbage each time you walk in.

Target is Amazing

IMG_2058Target is known for the ability to just tell you “what you need” when you walk in.  I know that I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for when I arrived at Target, but I found a world of home decorations.

I bought a turquoise end table for $80.  I also is a cabinet, so it adds extra storage space.  I bought a brown end table for $60 as well.  I like to add different pieces to a room to make sure I am decorating using fun pieces and I don’t want to make the space look too uniform.  I like to keep the space fun and relaxing.

End tables are super important to make sure that guests have places to put drinks and food when you are entertaining.  When we first moved in, we would use old stools to sit on as end tables for when our parents would visit.

Home Goods Helps Me With My Living Room

IMG_2063I have been making a habit of going to Home Goods at least 4 times a week.  I know that sounds extreme.  However, they are constantly re-stocking and moving items.  So if you miss a week of going to Home Goods, you will walk in and there will be all new items.

I found a great tv console that was originally $500.  It was marked on the tag at $399.  Then, it was on clearance and we got it for $287.  What a steal!  My husband and I loaded it in the car and we carried it right home-it looks amazing!

I went two days later and found a cocktail ottoman that was only $120.  Online at many websites, there are many cocktail ottomans that are expensive and you are looking at spending an upwards of $300.  Again, I loaded it right in the car and brought it home.  I love when I am able to walk right out with furniture and see how it looks.

I also bought a tray for the cocktail ottoman to put food and drinks on.  The tray cost $19.99.

How to Furnish a Living Room for under $2,500

IMG_2064This past weekend after weeks of searching, my husband and I found the perfect tv console for our living room.  Finally, we have furnished an entire room.

This is how much we spent for our living room:

-The full couch set came to $1,500

-The tv console was $287

-Home Goods Vase, Foot Stool, Cocktail Ottoman, Tray $190

-2 Target End Tables $140

-Online Area Rug $100

We haven’t decorated it with actual decorations yet, but to furnish this room, we have spent $2,217.  We stayed right under our budget.  We still have some wiggle room for decorations
